The wave spread faster than imagined,from unrest in western Kenya to fatal dormitory fires in Rift Valley, one unsettling question remains: Are students crying out for help in the only way they know how? The country was shaken most painfully by the tragedy at Utumishi Girls Academy, where a dormitory fire killed 16 students and left dozens injured in late May 2026.
